With Spellian, you’ll have the opportunity to practise a foreign language with a native speaker (you can choose between English, Italian, French, German, or Spanish). You’ll also learn about the culture of the country where your target language is spoken and become more knowledgeable (aware and open-minded?) about the richness of the European cultures.

Another exciting aspect of Spellian is that you’ll work with another student abroad, an experience that not only helps you improve your language skills, but also demonstrates communication, teamwork, and intercultural awareness, all qualities that future employers highly value. And who knows? Your exchange partner might even become a lifelong friend.

Ready to join?

• You must attend a participating school and have completed Year 9 (UK), 1º ESO (Spain), Prima Media (Italy), Cinquième (France), Year 7 (Germany). If your school does not currently take part but you would like to participate, ask your teacher to get in touch with us.
• We do not require a minimum language level. Regardless of how confident you feel, you’ll improve quickly through regular conversations with your partner. The most important thing is that you are motivated to learn and approach each session with a positive attitude.
• We ask all our students to be kind, respectful, and supportive. Spellian is a language exchange, and what makes it special is that both partners help each other learn. You’ll support your partner as they learn your language, while they help you improve yours.
• Finally, you’ll need to be organised and committed so that you can attend your sessions regularly and make the most of the experience.
